NALSA DAWN – Drug Awareness and Wellness Navigation for a Drug-free India Scheme-2025

International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2026

Sikkim State Legal Services Authority (SLSA) joins the nation in observing the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 26 June 2026, reaffirming its commitment towards a drug-free and healthy society.

This observance is being undertaken in accordance with the NALSA DAWN (Drug Awareness and Wellness Navigation – For a Drug Free India) Scheme, 2025, which aims to promote awareness, prevention, rehabilitation, and access to legal assistance for persons affected by substance abuse.

Drug addiction not only affects individuals but also impacts families, communities, and society at large. Through awareness, early intervention, counselling, rehabilitation, and collective community action, we can work together to build a safer and healthier future for all.

As part of the observance, Sikkim SLSA and the District Legal Services Authorities are conducting awareness and outreach activities in educational institutions, correctional institutions, rehabilitation centres, and other public spaces to spread the message of a drug-free India.
