    Mediation

    In Sikkim, Mediation was introduced in the year 2009. The first Mediation Centre was established in the office of Sikkim State Legal Services Authority, Gangtok on 11/05/2009 followed by Mediation Centres being set up in all the three districts of Sikkim i.e. Namchi on 31/05/2009, Gyalshing on 20/02/2010 and Mangan on 18/02/2010.

    APPOINTMENT OF CO-ORDINATORS FOR THE MEDIATION CENTRES

    In Sikkim, Member Secretary of Sikkim SLSA is nominated as the Central Co-ordinator while the District Judges who are also the Chairpersons of DLSAs have been nominated as Co-ordinators for the Mediation Centres in all the 4 (four) Districts of Sikkim vide Notification no. 153/SLSA/05/MC dated 24/11/2015.

    HONORARIUM TO MEDIATORS

    As per the Notification bearing No. 267/SLSA/03/MC dated 22/10/2022, the honorarium paid to the Mediators is as per the resolution adopted during the meeting of MCPC held on 15/12/2021, the rate of honorarium is as under:

    Presently, there are four Mediation Centres in the State of Sikkim and the details are as under:

    TRAINING OF MEDIATORS

    Sikkim SLSA under the aegis of Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee, Supreme Court of India from 16th May 2009 to 12th September 2023 has conducted 13 training / sensitization / refresher programmes for Mediators. The details are as under:
