Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ajoy Nath Ray was born on 31st October 1946.
He was enrolled as an Advocate in the Calcutta High Court on 4th August 1970 and practiced in Calcutta High Court in Civil matters since 1970.
He was appointed as a permanent judge of the Calcutta High Court on 6th August, 1990.
He was appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court from 7th June, 2004 to 10th Jan, 2005.
He was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court on 11th January, 2005 and was Transferred to the Sikkim High Court on 12th Jan, 2007 where he assumed charge of the office of the Chief Justice on 27th January, 2007.
